Edamam, a provider of nutrition data services to the food, health and wellness industries, has been selected by Barilla, Ocean Spray and Foxtel to power nutrition for recipes on their digital properties. Edamam’s unique technology produces detailed nutrient and diet data for each recipe on its partner sites.

To deliver the service, Edamam is leveraging its Nutrition Analysis API , which produces real-time, highly accurate nutrition data of any recipe or ingredient list, utilizing Edamam’s unique, food domain specific, natural language understanding technology. The analyzed data contains information about the content of all macro and micro nutrients. It also labels recipes according to their appropriateness for all allergens and popular diets, such as vegan, paleo, keto, gluten-free and low-sugar.

“We are very proud to have been chosen by such esteemed brands as Barilla, Ocean Spray and Foxtel to provide nutrition data for the recipes they have,” commented Victor Penev, the Founder and CEO of Edamam.

Other clients using Edamam’s Nutrition Analysis service include top food media sites such as Bon Appetit, New York Times Cooking, Food Network and America’s Test Kitchen, as well as a number of catering and food delivery companies and individual restaurants.

“Our mission is to help people make smart, personalized food choices, so that food becomes an easy and enjoyable path to long life and health,” added Victor Penev.

Edamam also provides a meal recommendation engine via its Recipe Search API for health and wellness businesses – another unique solution that makes the right food choices easier.
