Press Release, News
“When faced with a cancer diagnosis, patients and their families often have to manage the coordination and communication among a variety of specialists. We want to lighten their load,” said Rahul Shah, hippomsg co-founder and an otolaryngologist at Children's National Medical Center. “With hippomsg, providers can seamlessly communicate with surgeons, occupational therapists, nurses and patient advocates—no matter the geographic location or practice of the provider.”
The Big C Competition proceeds through several rounds and culminates on Sept. 29 in Austin, Texas, where five finalists will be invited to present their innovations during the Ride for the Roses weekend. Sixty ventures will receive a total of $140,000 in seed funding. The grand-prize winner will receive $25,000.
Grilli and Shah founded hippomsg in 2012 to bring medical care into the digital age by allowing healthcare professionals to communicate instantly and securely using their practices' computers or their own mobile devices. The company's leadership brings together six decades of experience in medicine with industry leaders in HIPAA compliance and technology.
