Press Release, News
BioUtah (www.bioutah.org) today released the agenda for the 2013 Utah Life Science Summit, Utah's premier life science event, which will be held all day, November 6 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The 2013 Utah Life Science Summit is presented by BioUtah, Utah's official life science association, which was launched at the 2012 Summit. BioUtah is the state's exclusive independent industry association, representing organizations focused on medical device, diagnostics, biotech, pharma and healthcare.
“BioUtah is delighted to present the 2013 Utah Life Science Summit,” said Kimball Thomson, president & CEO of BioUtah. “The Summit has become established as the quintessential annual event for the state's life science community, and offers irreplaceable networking and learning opportunities. The caliber of the content and people involved is exceptional, across the board.”
The fourth annual Summit will feature four simultaneous tracks—Entrepreneurial, Regulatory, Strategic Pillars (mature companies) and State of the Sector. Every track consists of highly respected experts in their particular fields of endeavor. In addition, all participants will attend three plenary sessions: a breakfast keynote session, lunchtime awards ceremony and closing funding panel. The agenda and registration information for the Summit is available on a dedicated section of the BioUtah website, http://bioutah.org/2013-summit/.
The breakfast keynote session will feature two prominent global life science leaders: medical device expert Peter Fitzgerald, director of Stanford University's Center for Cardiovascular Technology, serial entrepreneur and venture partner of Latterell Ventures; and one of the nation's most successful biotech investors, Sofinnova Ventures general partner James Healy. Governor Gary Herbert will participate in the luncheon Awards session, highlighted by the presentation of the fourth annual Willem J. Kolff Lifetime Achievement Award.
